AFA Field Leader Resources for Chapters, States and Regions
A practical path to AFA's current field operations library, with context for Chapter volunteers and leaders.
Starting or operating a Chapter
AFA's resource library groups the Field Operations Guide and charter requirements under Field Operations. It also links separate instructions and templates for Chapter bylaws and State bylaws. A Chapter volunteer should start with those official materials and their Region or State leadership rather than treating a public profile as an operations manual. Find the public profile of your organization in the AFA Connect Chapter directory.
Training and leader tools
AFA's Field Leader Training Modules guide explains how Chapter, State and Region volunteers can select lessons with the official role matrix. It distinguishes the Field Leader Portal, where authorized leaders can review new members, submit activity and financial reports, maintain officer rosters and update membership information. The portal is an AFA system; AFA Connect's public directory does not grant access. The library also has meeting-preparation materials for the Field Council and Region Presidents and branding templates for approved field use.
Military-service outreach
Chapter volunteers planning a career-day talk or a local conversation with Air Force recruiters can begin with our AFA AIMS guide. It explains the Association’s recruiting-outreach partnership and links the current AIMS Toolbox. The Field Leader Resources library covers Chapter operations and leader access; AIMS materials serve a different outreach purpose.
Awards, education and membership forms
The official library separates Aerospace Education Achievement and Excellence nominations, Teacher of the Year forms, and Field Award nominations. For award categories, the published nomination route and dated winners, read our Field Awards guide; for educators, see the Teacher of the Year guide. AFA also links membership applications, Mission Membership materials, a Community Partner application and monthly membership reports. The monthly files displayed in the library are dated; do not treat an older report as a current membership count.
Developing field leadership
The library links materials for the Scott Van Cleef Emerging Leader Program and a Board candidate application. Our Emerging Leader guide explains the public program and its Region President nomination path. AFA also lists a history and heritage grant form, reimbursement guidance and training briefings. Some linked documents may require AFA access or may be replaced between cycles. If a document is unavailable or a deadline is unclear, use the current AFA library and its published field-team contact; do not send personal information through AFA Connect's public pages.
