AFA National Convention: business, delegates, and elections

The Association's National Convention brings its official business and delegate voting together. AFA now lists September 18–19, 2027 in National Harbor; verify registration and delegate rules with AFA.

What happens at the AFA National Convention?

The National Convention is where the Air & Space Forces Association conducts Association business. Its 2026 program included Board elections, a membership-pricing motion, workshops, and business sessions. That purpose differs from the Air, Space & Cyber Conference's broader professional program, even though AFA connected the two events' registration in 2026. For the current Board and governing documents, see our Board guide and governance guide.

When and where is the next Convention?

AFA's live Convention page now lists September 18–19, 2027 in National Harbor, Maryland. It still links 2026 agenda and election materials; those are not a 2027 agenda or rules. AFA has not yet published a 2027 registration route or delegate-voting deadlines there. Check the official live Convention page before making travel plans. Our events calendar is useful for discovering AFA events, but the official page controls Convention registration and participation.

Who could vote in 2026?

AFA's 2026 elections FAQ said voters had to be named on their State's official delegate form, affiliated with a Chapter in that State, active members in good standing, and registered for the Convention in person or virtually. Delegates cast individual electronic ballots; simply attending did not make someone a delegate. The FAQ describes a past election cycle, not standing instructions for 2027 or later. Ask your State organization or Chapter about future participation, and confirm the next cycle's credentialing rules and deadlines on AFA's official page.

How did credentialed delegates vote in 2026?

AFA’s 2026 voting instructions said each credentialed delegate received an email with an individual ballot link and access credentials. After submitting an electronic ballot, the voter received a confirmation number and email. AFA directed voters with a missing or broken ballot link to the election support address on its official voting page. Its 2026 virtual-attendance guidance said credentialed virtual delegates could take part in Convention business sessions and voting, while other activities such as workshops were not available virtually. These were instructions for the completed 2026 cycle; do not use its deadlines, access process, or fees as the rules for a future Convention.

What was on the 2026 National Convention agenda?

AFA’s September 12–13, 2026 agenda records registration and delegate-credentialing hours, Convention business sessions, optional workshops, a delegate lunch, and the Field Awards reception and dinner. Its linked full-agenda files are AFA-hosted documents and may have separate access requirements. The 2026 workshop archive describes sessions on Chapter communications, heritage and AIMS activity, advocacy, and aerospace education. These are records of a completed Convention; neither page is a schedule or registration promise for a future meeting. Check the live Convention page for the next announced cycle.

What did the 2026 election page report?

AFA’s 2026 candidates and results page names Janelle Stafford as elected vice chair for Field Operations, Mike Maxwell as national treasurer, Linda McMahon as East Area national director, and Bill Harding and Paul Weseloh as the two at-large national directors. That page is a record of the completed election, not a substitute for the current Board guide and AFA’s live roster if a role later changes.

What did the 2026 Premium Membership motion propose?

AFA’s 2026 motions page presents a proposal for 2027 Premium Membership terms and its supporting FAQ. The proposal page alone does not establish the final ratified terms or today’s prices. Use our current membership comparison and AFA’s live join information before making a purchase.

Where can I find outcomes and follow-up?

For the people serving now, use AFA's live Board roster alongside our source-dated Board guide. The Convention site links its election and voting materials; our newsroom helps readers find subsequent AFA announcements. An announced election result and an updated current roster are different records, so check both before attributing a current office to someone.
