Col. Kenneth Cordier, 1937-2024, was a leader, warrior, and survivor who served his country and the Air Force with unwavering dedication. An F-4 fighter pilot who was shot down over North Vietnam and spent more than six years as a prisoner of war, Col. Cordier was not only a protector of our nation’s freedom but also a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His life was a testament to courage, sacrifice, and love. He died June 18 at age 87 and was laid to rest at Dallas Forth Worth National Cemetery with full military honors. F-35s from Luke Air Force Base, Ariz., conducted a flyover of the service.
Throughout his career, Col. Cordier exemplified the highest ideals of duty and honor, earning the respect and admiration of his comrades and countrymen. Beyond the uniform, he was the cornerstone of his family, providing strength, guidance, and unwavering support.
As a husband, his love and partnership were the foundation of a lasting and cherished relationship. As a father and grandfather, his wisdom and kindness shaped the lives of those he held dear, leaving a legacy of love and memories that will endure for generations.
In remembrance of Col. Cordier, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by service to country and family. His spirit, values, and love continue to inspire us all.
