The Air & Space Forces Association (AFA) mourns the passing of Rep. Kay Granger of Texas, whose nearly three-decade tenure in the House of Representatives included being chair of the House Appropriations Committee and time on its defense subcommittee. Rep. Granger was a strong supporter of the Air Force’s critical role in national defense and a stalwart champion of the F-35 program from its inception.
“Rep. Granger stood behind our Airmen and warfighters across the entire force,” said AFA President & CEO Lt. Gen. Burt Field, USAF (Ret.). “She knew that our National Defense requires our Airmen, Guardians, and Joint Force to be equipped with the best, most capable equipment to deter, fight, and win. AFA mourns her passing and will always be thankful for the critical work she championed.”
