Use this guide to navigate AFA publications, events, education opportunities, and partner offers before checking your membership and current provider terms.
Start with your membership type
AFA offers a free, digital-first Mission Membership alongside paid options. Its FAQ says Mission Members receive digital news, updates, event invitations, community participation, and access to an AFA member profile. Mission Members may take part in Chapter activities and leadership; they do not receive discounted full-conference registration solely from the free tier. Compare free and paid membership options before assuming a benefit is included.
Browse benefits by purpose
- News, research, and events: Follow Air Force and Space Force coverage, publications, podcasts, and AFA events. Our News and Events pages help you discover public activity; member-only access and registration terms remain with AFA.
- Education: Explore AFA scholarships and education grants. Each opportunity sets its own eligibility and application rules; membership alone does not guarantee an award.
- Travel and shopping: AFA's benefits directory lists hotel, rental-car, shipping, and other partner offers. Use the live directory for the current partner, rate, access instructions, and restrictions rather than relying on a saved discount percentage.
- Financial, insurance, wellness, and legal options: AFA lists partner services in these categories. They may involve separate enrollment, qualifications, prices, or underwriting. Review the provider's current terms through AFA before making a decision.
How to use a benefit
- Check AFA's live benefits directory for the current offer and whether member sign-in is required.
- Confirm your membership tier and any partner eligibility, cost, or exclusion before enrolling or paying.
- Use your AFA member profile or the official provider link. AFA Connect's mobile app and public website help you connect with the community; installing the app does not enroll you in AFA or activate a partner offer.
